Hundreds turn out to say farewell to tragic homeless woman Catherine Kenny
Ms Kenny, a mother-of-one from Downpatrick, died on Saturday. She had been receiving help from homeless charities.
Today her Requiem Mass was held at 9am at St Patrick’s Church in Downpatrick.

Hide AdParish priest, Rev John Murray said he estimated “between 600 and 700 people” had attended the ceremony.
The senior cleric added during the homily he spoke about how Ms Kenny’s family had shown her “great love and mercy” towards her as she “tried and failed with her problems”.
Rev Murray said: “A few buses came form Belfast with friends of Catherine’s who may have known her on the streets.
“During the service I also made reference to the tragedy in Buncrana and in Belgium as grief is not just our own, it is all over.”
Ms Kenny was later buried alongside her late parents Michael and Kathleen.
Ms Kenny is survived by her son Calum, brother David, and sisters Paula and Lee-Maria.
