IN PICTURES: Woman airlifted and taken to hospital on north coast following fall

A rescue helicopter from Scotland swung into action to retrieve a woman who had fallen at Ballintoy Harbour on the north coast.

It happened near a rock formation called Elephant Rock.

The extent of her injuries are unknown.

She was airflited from the scene by Coastguard Rescue Helicopter R199 from Prestwick to the top of the cliffs in the area.

A road ambulance then took her to the Causeway Hospital.

She is in a stable condition.
