Jonathan Craig is looking most vulnerable but no one had been deemed to have reached the 5,551 quota by 5pm.

Both Ulster Unionist candidates, Robbie Butler and Jenny Palmer, polled strongly on first preference votes and were confident many transfers would follow.

The SDLP’s Pat Catney is expected to be eliminated and Trevor Lunn of Alliance could be the main beneficiary of his transfers.

Jacqui McGeough of Sinn Fein was eliminated at the fourth count.
