Man charged after seizure of killer drug

A 45-year-old man has been charged with possession of a Class A controlled drug, possession of Class A controlled drug with intent to supply, and dishonestly using electricity following a planned search of a house in the Ballymena area last night.

He is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday, 20 June.

Constable Peter Kearney, Ballymena Crime Team said: “A quantity of heroin with an estimated street value of £2,700 was seized.

“We are determined to reduce the availability of this killer drug and I appeal to anyone who has any concerns or information about illegal drugs to contact their local Police on the non-emergency number 101.

“Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
