Gerard James Thompson, 23, has been charged with five offences including possessing cannabis with intent to supply and possessing ammunition in suspicious circumstances.

His car was stopped on Tuesday afternoon during a police traffic stop on the Ormeau Embankment, and police recovered a quantity of herbal cannabis. After conducting a search of Thompson’s Elgin Street flat, a further quantity of the Class B drug was located, along with shotgun cartridges and other ammunition.
