Man charged with 10 offences following attack on woman in Newtownabbey

A man has been charged with attempted murder plus a string of other charges in relation to an attack on a woman in Glengormley last week.

The 33-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, breach of a non-molestation order, burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving, two counts of theft, plus four other offences.

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on the morning of Saturday January 23.

It follows an attack on a woman in the Ashgrove Road area of the town – which forms part of Newtownabbey in east Antrim – on January 13.

The incident sparked a manhunt in a bid to trace the attacker.
