Man dies following stabbing in Downpatrick

The PSNI has launched a murder investigation following a stabbing incident in Downpatrick this morning.

They said the victim was a 28-year-old man.

Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell said that police believe the man was stabbed at around 11am in the Church Street area of the town.

He died at the scene.

A man in his 30s has been arrested.
