Man on gang murder charge

A man has appeared in court charged with a gun murder as part of a feud between Irish crime gangs.

Patrick Hutch, 24, is accused of the murder of David Byrne, 33, who was shot at a boxing weigh-in at the city’s Regency Hotel in February.

Hutch was remanded in custody at Dublin District Court after the charge was put to him last night. He will reappear on Wednesday.
