Inspector Brian Mills is appealing for information about the incident and would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity to call detectives at Musgrave on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Sinn Féin MLA Jennifer McCann has condemned the shooting and called on those responsible to end their war against the community.

“The people behind these shootings are at war with the community,” she said. “Their campaign against people in their own community should end now.

“Anyone with information on this attack should bring it forward to the police.”
