Man stabbed at a party in Donaghadee

Police in Newtownards arrested a 30 year old man following the stabbing incident at a flat at Cannyreagh Road early this morning, March 11.

Detective Sergeant Melanie McGrory said: “A man in his 30s was stabbed in the chest and back shortly after midnight at a party being held at the flat.

“The suspect then left and was followed by a number of other people who had been in attendance at the party. The man was identified and arrested by police a short distance away.

“He was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon, and remains in custody at this time. The injured man is in a stable condition in hospital.
