Kevin Nolan, from Stewartstown Road in Dunmurry, was arraigned on a total of seven charges at Belfast Crown Court.
He denied all the charges that were put to him.
Amongst the terrorist offences, Nolan has been charged with possessing 651g of the commercial explosive Semtex, both with intent to endanger life, and in suspicious circumstances, between May 1, 2015 and September 18, 2015.
He was also charged with possessing two handguns in suspicious circumstances and with intent to endanger life.

In addition, Nolan was charged with possessing a balaclava for use in terrorism, possessing an assortment of cartridges, and possessing firearms without a certificate.
The explosives, guns and bullets were all seized during a police raid at a house on Ballymurphy Road in west Belfast last September.
According to reports at the time, Nolan was arrested in Sunderland as part of a joint anti-terror operation by the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch, the North East Counter Terrorism Unit in England, and Northumbria police.
The trial, which is expected to span two weeks, is due to take place at Belfast Crown Court in December.
Nolan was released on continuing bail.
