Men charged with possessing criminal property after Crumlin '˜stop and search' operation

Detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch have charged two men - aged 34-years and 36-years - with possessing criminal property.

A 37-year-old man has been charged with possessing criminal property and three counts of possession of a class A controlled drug.

The men are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court tomorrow.

As is normal procedure the charges are reviewed by the PPS.

The charges are related to the stop and search of a vehicle at Tully Road in Crumlin on June 10.

A 44-year-old man arrested in relation to the incident was released on police bail pending further inquiries.

The police had said on Saturday that they had stopped a Citroen Berlingo was stopped at around 2.45pm the previous day, and “recovered a substantial sum of cash on board and a small amount of suspected cocaine”.

They had added: “Follow up searches in the Belfast area uncovered a quantity of suspected herbal cannabis valued at around £1,000.”
