Military plane from Soviet Union to fly over Province
The organisers of the Portrush airshow – known as Air Waves – have secured the appearance of a MiG-15 UTI aircraft.
Known as “the Midget”, (above), the craft was made in Poland during the Cold War years.

Hide AdIt is the same type of jet in which Yuri Gagarin – the first man in space – had flown for the Soviet military. He died as a result of a crash in one of the craft.
The former Soviet aeroplane which will be on display is now operated by the Norwegian Air Force.
This year will be its first appearance at Air Waves Portrush.
The show – taking place on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 of September, is the biggest free airshow on the island of Ireland.
Displays begin at 12.15pm each day. Organisers did not state when the MiG will appear.
