Maurice Bradley, now a DUP MLA in East Londonderry, had written the book ‘The North – Now and Then’ before he was elected to the Assembly this May.

All proceeds from the sale of it will go to Sandelford Special School in Coleraine, and whilst some copies remain to be sold, the £1,070 handed over to the school represents the bulk of the money raised.

The title of the book refers to the north coast of Northern Ireland, and the book itself is described as “a combination of present day photographs of some of the most famous scenes in Northern Ireland with black and white scenes from around a hundred years ago”.

The book is available at Waterstones and Easons Book Shops across Northern Ireland.

Mr Bradley said: “I would like to thank the publishers, Causeway Press and also my MP, Gregory Campbell for his support in getting the book to print and distribution. It is a beautiful combination of present day photographs of some of the most famous scenes in Northern Ireland with black and white scenes from years ago.

‘The North – Now and Then’ is priced £8.99 and available at bookshops.
