Six other houses were damaged in the fire.
A pigeon coop at the back of one of the properties was destroyed, killing 22 birds, but eight survived.
Five fire appliances from Cadogan, Central and Knock and the Command Support Unit from Lisburn fire station fought the blaze for almost three hours.
Smoke alarms were fitted and alerted the occupants, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said.
An investigation has been launched into the cause of the blaze.
