Mother of teenage road crash victim ‘absolutely heartbroken’

The mother of an 18-year-old who died following a two-vehicle crash in Co Down last night has said she is “absolutely” heart broken.

Samuel McCullough died following the collision in the Coily Hill Road area shortly after midnight on Monday.

The PSNI said the deceased was a “passenger in a Peugeot 207 which collided with a Volkswagen Polo.”

Six other young people, four males and two females, were injured and taken to hospital.

Mr McCullough’s mother, Pamela, posted a moving message on social media website Facebook following the tragedy.

“Can’t believe I’m having to write this, my beautiful son Samuel tragically passed away in the early hours this morning,” she said.

“Our hearts are absolutely broken.

“We’ll love and miss you always and your memory will forever live on.”

She added: “Sleep tight son.”
