Motorbike crash victim named as Jay Reardon, 21

Jay Curtis Reardon, from the Holywood hills area to the east of Belfast, died as a result of a crash on the Belfast Road, to the west of Newtownards on Sunday, July 31.

He was 21.

The collision occurred at around 12.50pm on Sunday afternoon close to the junction with Milecross Road.

Police said that not thought any other vehicle was involved.

They have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

In particular, police said that the driver of a blue or purple Ford Kuga was being sought.

It was thought that they may have stopped at the scene, but drove off before police arrived.

It is not known if they were male or female.

Inspector Jim McGrillen said: “Police can be contacted by calling 101, quoting reference 663 31/07/16.”
