Motorcyclist sustains '˜serious and life changing injuries' after Limavady collision

Police are appealing for information following a serious two vehicle road collision yesterday which left a male motorcyclist with serious and life changing injuries.

The motorcyclist has been names locally as Paul Butcher.

The collision between a car and a motorcyclist happened on the Ballyquin Road in Limavady around 2.45pm yesterday (May 21).

“The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are described as serious and life changing,” according to the PSNI.

“The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment for shock.”

Constable Gregg Chambers said: “I would appeal to anyone who knows anything about this rtc to contact Limavady Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.”

Earlier today a spokesman for the Royal Victoria Hospital said the motorcyclist remained “in a critical condition”.
