Naomi Long was elected as MP for East Belfast in 2010 but lost her seat to the DUP’s Gavin Robinson in 2015.

Gavin Robinson’s victory in 2015 came amid a pact between the DUP and the UUP that meant the Ulster Unionists did not field a candidate.

Announcing her decision, Mrs Long said she was “delighted” to fight to retake the seat.
