NI cousins Kelsey-Marie (3) and Shauna (17) killed in horror crash

Two cousins from Northern Ireland killed in a road traffic collision in England earlier this month were laid to rest earlier today.

Shauna Stokes (17) and Kelsey-Marie Stokes (3) were killed a road traffic collision on A1086 Coast Road between Horden and Blackhall in county Durham in northeast England.

The two girls were living with family in England but are both originally from Londonderry.

Their remains were brought from England to Northern Ireland where their funerals took place in Londonderry on Monday morning.

“Oh baby I love and miss you and so does your daddy,” said Kelsey-Marie’s heartbroken mother Michelle.

The joint funeral took place in St. Joseph’s Chapel, Galliagh in Londonderry.

Sergeant Pete Tate, from Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit, who is leading the investigation into the crash said: “This is a tragic incident for all involved and we would like to offer our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those who have lost their lives.”
