Brussels attack is an atrocity but the Rising is celebrated

The Brussels bombing is a murderous attempt by Isis to establish an Islamic state.

It is not a re-enactment of the Easter Rising, but the timing of the coincidence is uncanny.

One is an atrocity; the other considered a cause for celebration.

There are still those who believe that murder is the only means of achieving their political goal.

The cheering and applause in Maghaberry prison over the bomb that killed a prison officer (Adrian Ismay), is a reminder that remnants of Ireland`s turbulent past persist.
