DUP boasting about money will not endear them to British people

Had the DUP been clever they would have pledged their support for the Conservatives without seeking any further financial aid in return, given that Northern Ireland already receives more largesse from the British exchequer than any other part of the UK.

I’m not convinced that standing outside 10 Downing Street smugly boasting of having acquired an extra £1.5 billion will endear them to the British people or their representatives.

As the DUP and Sinn Fein have fed off each other for over four decades managing only to turn Stormont into a Folks on the Hill tribute act, one is moved to ask the question: Is this really what Arlene left the Ulster Unionists for?
