Gerry Adams does not show mercy

Re '˜Foster: Republic must reject Adams' unity call' (April 25), the First Minister is 100% correct in making this statement.

It is as plain as the nose on one’s face that unification of north/south will never happen because there is too much hatred coming from the nationalist side of the divide.

They are carrying a chip on their shoulder because they know that the 1916/1918 Easter Rising was a failure and the history books cannot be altered. The deaths for that cause then were unnecessary and availed nothing. Gerry Adams has shown no remorse for the grieving relatives of loved ones that were murdered during the ‘Troubles’ and to see the image of him in your article in a praying form, hands clasped, next to an image on the following page is blasphemy.

Gerry states that he is proud of the men and women of 1916/1918, proud of those who spent time for crime in H Block and Armagh, and the 1981 hunger strikers and the patriot dead of the Troubles who were/are responsible for the deaths of so many innocent victims.

Who is he praying to? Surely not the God in Heaven that I know and love for he is a God of compassion and forgiveness.

Is Gerry showing mercy and forgiveness in supporting the evil doers of our society? I think not. Those men who took part in the republican Sinn Fein march to the GPO in O’Connell Street, Dublin with their faces covered with scarves, dark glasses and berets must have something to hide.

There is nothing hidden from God. Nothing.
