High time for North Channel link

The integrity of the United Kingdom as a union of British and Northern Irish peoples is non-negotiable.

It is high time the North Channel fixed link was built. The upshot will be a more cohesive UK, politically, economically and socially. Belfast would emerge as a credible transatlantic port for the whole UK.

Another happy by-product of a fixed link would be to necessitate the reopening of the much liked Dumfries-Stranraer line to facilitate freight and passengers trains from Belfast to London — and indeed continental Europe via channel tunnel.
