If not for British and Yanks, letter writer would not be free to speak

Not for the first time Peter McEvoy (March 3) takes a very simplistic and unrealistic view of how the world evolves and nations develop.

He is very selective in referring to the British and Yanks but had it not been for those two nations Mr McEvoy may not have been here today and if he were it’s unlikely he would be openly expressing similar views about the Nazis.

Regarding his eulogising of former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis, given the basket case that Greece is and has been for years I do not think anyone should attach much credibility to the views of Mr Varoufakis.
