Kris Meeke joins list of local stars

This was an incredible achievement in what is the fastest Rally in the World in a country which is affectionately known as the home of rallying. To become the first British driver and only the sixth non-Scandinavian driver to win this classic event demonstrates just what a sensational achievement this is especially in such a dominant display.

We have a very rich and proud history of local Motorsport heroes here in Northern Ireland, and Kris rightly deserves his name to be on that list of heroes.

His latest achievement is testament to a lifetime of work and dedication towards achieving success like this and his achievement shouldn’t go unnoticed.

Kris is a real credit to Northern Ireland, his family and friends and I know there are many more great successes to come in his career.

We are living in special days for our own home grown sporting stars and Kris should proudly take his rightful place along with our other local sporting stars in recent years such as Carl, Rory, Jonathan Rea and Michael O’Neill’s Green and White Army to name but a few.
