Alex Kane’s voice seems to go unheard by unionist politicians

I always look forward to Monday’s edition of the News Letter and particularly Alex Kane’s article (‘Unionism needs to speak, and think, with one voice,’ Feb 15).

It’s a pity in these uncertain times for unionism and the Union that his voice seems to go unheard in the amongst the unionist politicians.

Over the years since 1985 history has shown that unionist politicians react after the event and this is again borne out with the Northern Ireland Protocol.

If those supporting the Union cannot act with one voice to have the necessary changes made to the provisions contained within the protocol or have it replaced with something else then I’m afraid just like Private Frazer said in Dad’s Army: ‘We’re doomed’
