Once again we see what I consider the evil fruits of the St Andrew’s DUP/SF carve-up in 2006.

They are besmirching the post of speaker with the announcement that Gerry Kelly – convicted of the Old Bailey bomb that killed one man [who died of a heart attack after the explosion] and injured 200 others – as well as the prime mover in the Long Kesh break-out that also resulted in the death of a prison officer, has been named temporary Deputy Speaker in the Assembly (Gerry Kelly & Jim Wells to become temporary deputy speakers at Stormont, News Letter, June 23).

The bones of Carson and Craigavon must be turning in their graves.
