Damages for Pat Finucane’s widow over delays in that case yet victims of the Troubles still await a pension

I was interested to read in your newspaper last week that the secretary of state has agreed to pay Mrs Finucane, pictured, £7,500 compensation for the delay in dealing with her request for a public inquiry (‘December 22)

(The article can be read here: ‘Pat Finucane’s widow to get £7,500 over delays to case,’ December 22)

As a victim of the the Troubles would it be reasonable for me to expect him to approve, with immediate effect, a similar payments to me and other victims who have been waiting almost 10 years for a Victims Pension?
