Rowland Mulligan, Omagh, praises Sandra Chapman, the columnist, for her support of the health minister Robin Swann for the way he conducts his brief (‘Well said Sandra Chapman,’ January 12).

For some time I also thought a non-political assistant to the executive, Dr Michael McBride, chief medical officer of NI, deserves a gong.
