Just a short note in support of the former school principal Mr Hugh McCarthy’s article, which was published in your paper last Thursday (‘Education and socialisation can’t happen behind a mask,’ April 8, extra).

I agree with all his comments and would congratulate him on his efforts with regards to the education of our children in a normal environment.
