If EU can split UK it is because the prime minister agreed a Brexit deal that allowed them to do so

Am I to believe that Boris Johnson now sees the pit both Theresa May and he helped to dig in the Withdrawal Agreement, where Northern Ireland was kept under EU governance while Britain could skip off to new freedom?
Boris Johnson with Arlene Foster. If the EU can break up the UK then it is as a result of the deal he agreed. I understand all sides agreed that our land border of Northern Ireland (the only border that Britain has) should be free from British checks for fear of stirring up trouble by republicans.

I dare to point out that our ‘Troubles’ occurred when we operated an open border.

Britain was quite happy to use our land border to define their sovereignty but once it was no longer required they plotted to use the Irish Sea to suit their purpose.

Now Boris says that the Irish Sea can be used by the EU to break up the UK, but if that is true then it is as a result of the deal that he agreed. And if it is correct he deserves to be exposed.

I do hope for the sake of Northern Ireland that the treachery used against us is stopped by the politicians at Westminster.

What a pity our first minister seemed in a recent interview to be reconciled to what was thought to be the inevitable.

That was certainly not her approach in former days. She was in the Ulster Unionist Party along with me and many others, and she was forceful with David Trimble, was strident about the Good Friday Agreement being wrong and that we should not be parrying with republicans.
