It is a disgrace that the Union flag did not fly over Stormont on the 75th anniversary of VE Day

The fact that our national flag did not fly over Stormont on the 75th anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day is a disgrace.

I believe that, whatever the internal tensions in the assembly, it reflects very badly on the DUP and also on the Ulster Unionist Party that the flag did not fly on such an important anniversary.

They need to ask themselves about their unionism.

It is so serious that the flag was not allowed to fly on that day that the unionist leaders should consider their position.
