Launch of anti abortion campaign aimed at politicians across the UK, to stop the killing of unborn babies

I would like to inform News Letter readers that a major pro-life campaign to abolish the Abortion (1967) Act has been formally launched.

Directed at lawmakers in the corridors of power across Britain, the Abort Abortion Campaign (AAC) presents all 929 politicians (650 in Westminster, 129 Holyrood, 90 Stormont and 60 The Senedd, Cardiff), formally and publicly for the first time, with unambiguous, and alarming, factual evidence that abortion is conclusively the killing of an unborn baby in the mother’s womb.

The AAC is motivated by a deep heart-cry on behalf of those who cannot speak for themselves: ‘Open thy mouth for the dumb (those who have no voice) in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.’ (Proverbs 31:8)

Legislators are now urged to urgently begin the process of repealing the Abortion (1967) Act, one of the worst ever laws enacted in the UK, with immediate effect,

Part of this evidence being presented to politicians is a graphic 28-minute DVD film called The Silent Scream, narrated by Dr Bernard N Nathanson — the doctor who early in his career ran the world’s largest abortion clinic in New York, where he oversaw thousands of abortions.

In eventually coming to realize that abortion was unequivocally the murder of a living human being, his story is grisly and deeply disturbing: “I am personally responsible for over 75,000 abortions. This was the greatest mistake of my life, and legal abortion was the greatest mistake this nation ever conceived! Tragically I am one of those who helped usher in this barbaric age...”

The film graphically details the killing of a twelve-week-old foetus in a suction abortion. The doctor used the footage to describe the facts of foetal development and to make the case for the humanity and dignity of the child in the womb.

At one point, viewers see the child draw back from the surgical instrument and open his mouth: “This,” says the doctor, “is the silent scream of a child threatened imminently with extinction.”

Politicians in Britain, currently holding office, have never been formally presented with this explicit and disturbing film, for their serious consideration — so the time has now come to put this right.

Over the past few days, all 90 members of the Northern Ireland Assembly, at Stormont, have been the first to be provided with this deeply alarming evidence, and notified of their moral obligations.

They are called on, firstly, to do everything in their power to repeal Section 9 of the Executive Formation Act, and restore full legal protection for unborn babies in Northern Ireland and, secondly, to assert all the power they can muster on politicians at Westminster to begin the long-awaited process of repealing the Abortion (1967) Act, for the lasting good of our precious unborn children.

They are also reminded them that the sole purpose of the abortion law (until 31st March 2020) in Northern Ireland was to protect the mother as well as her unborn child.

Sections 58 and 59 of the Offences against the Person Act 1861 and section 25 of the Criminal Justice Act (NI) 1945 together recognised that the unborn child, at any and every stage of development, was a human being — a person — deserving of protection under the law.

This protection they still deserve, despite the senseless government at Westminster saying otherwise.
