Letter: Fulton Sheen’s faithful biography of Jesus Christ will stir the heart of readers this Christmas
A letter from Caitriona Forde:
For the reader who would like to deepen her relationship with Our Lord Jesus Christ, the reader who has fallen away from his Faith and would like to feel that closeness again or the reader who is just a bit curious, a good book to read is Fulton Sheen’s Life of Christ.
In this book, Sheen takes his reader through the stages of God’s plan for humanity’s Salvation, with all its joyful, illuminating, sorrowful and glorious moments.
It reads like a faithful biography of Christ, laced with Scripture and Sheen’s signature poetic imagery that stirs the heart like a strike of Cupid’s arrow.
As we prepare to celebrate that special night in Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago, when “God and man looked each other in the face”, and we think about what to gift our loved ones (just as the Wise Men did), I hope that Fulton Sheen’s Life of Christ will find its way into someone else’s home and heart this Christmas.
