Letter: Irish Christianity that has existed for nearly 2,000 years is dying and in desperate need of reform
A letter from Clive Maxwell:

As the world shifts on its axis and descends into chaos, even the most cynical and naïve must wonder where it’s all heading and when it will end; what’s driving this hurricane of change?
The politicians and the churches are struggling to find answers to guide us through this storm.
A restless spirit, once dormant, has been disturbed and shaking its head in defiance to challenge the world order.

The Judeo-Christian foundations that held the world together are starting to crumble and the old certainties are showing cracks.
A new malevolent spirit is building and blowing change, and we are struggling to harness it and bring it under control.
There is a hint of revolution in the air that threatens to blow us over and the old props, in church and state, that we have used in the past to shore up the foundations, don’t work, and there is no pilot to steady the ship.
There have been similar situations in the past and we have managed to steer the ship back on course, but it’s listing, and the winds are not favourable.
The comfortable lives we have lived so long and the relative peace we have enjoyed are slipping away and drawing to a close; life is uncertain and losing its lustre.
People are seeking answers but the politicians and the churches are mute, and trying to warm up a corpse.
They will offer solutions that mask the symptoms, but they’re not a cure and merely delay the inevitable.
We should learn from history but seldom do, we focus on the facts and fail to learn the lessons. Symptoms vary but the disease is still the same.
If the covid crisis taught us nothing else it taught us public opinion prompted by the media can easily be manipulated - this was a dry run to promote globalism and a new world order.
The building blocks of this deception can be adjusted to meet public demand; not only is public opinion easily manipulated, it is fickle.
Within days of the barbaric attack on Israeli civilians, public sympathy had changed, and anti-semitism had spawned a new cult, and the churches by their silence were complicit.
We in Ireland are not immune to the toxic virus spawned on the left, it has travelled the world and is now troubling us, and we are bracing ourselves for culture change.
The Ireland of saints and scholars is vanishing before our eyes, and if we are going to survive we have to dig out the wells of truth that have filled in with time.
We need to be exposed to the ancient creeds to see if we are in the faith or not.
Irish Christianity that has existed for nearly 2,000 years is dying and in desperate need of reform, it continues as a habit.
Whoever picks up the gauntlet will lead us back to the faith of our fathers and the early Irish Church.
Those wilful steeds of secularism are cantering out of control, and need to be challenged, reigned in, and kept in check.
We need an Elijah to capture the raw energy of this turbulent spirit, and harness it to the needs of the Church.
The tame horse posing as Christianity today is blinkered and has lost that. It should be neutered and put out to grass.
