Mervyn Gibson should realise that re-unification is coming — start working now to make it as fair and as smooth, as possible

It is almost painful to watch Rev Mervyn Gibson wake up to the realisation that Britain couldn’t care less about Northern Ireland!

(‘Lousy unionist Boris Johnson has betrayed Northern Ireland,’ December 31)

He is just recognising the pattern that every post-war prime minister, including Churchill and Thatcher, has betrayed the unionists and likely will continue to betray them.

Sadly for him, there is no point in trying to go back: welcome to the future!

Re-unification is coming. Start working now to make it as fair and as successful, and as smooth, as possible.
