My wife Suzanne and I were so shocked and saddened this week to have heard of the sudden passing of my former boss and dear friend Norman Houston OBE.

Norman ran the Northern Ireland Bureau in Washington DC.

He was a tremendous ambassador for Northern Ireland and full of life.

He was so supportive during our five years in Washington DC.

Our thoughts are with his family and many friends both here and in the US.
