Robin Swann is doing sterling work at health yet Michelle O’Neill undermined him

Having watched part of the interview of Sinn Fein’s Michelle O’Neill. deputy first minister, on BBC The View on Thursday (pictured), I could withstand no more,

I am disgusted with her criticisms of the health minister, Robin Swann, his departmental officials, and medial and scientific experts.

Her persistent repetitious statements are pathetic.

Any differences of opinion she holds with colleagues should be addressed within NI executive meetings not afterwards in the media. It is not the fault of Mr Swann, our chief medical officer, Dr Michael McBride or the British government that there is a global shortage of ‘testing kits’ or personal protection equipment yet still she shouts ‘test test test’.

We are well aware of the difficulties. The UK, in terms of scientists are among the best in the world and therefore best qualified to advise the prime minister on strategy, not Ms O’Neill or Sinn Fein.

The latest wave of YouGov’s coronavirus tracker shows a dramatic increase in government approval, with even a majority of Labour voters thinking it is doing a good job.

Yet, Michelle O’Neill persists in undermining and critiquing our health minister who is to be commended for his sterling efforts in fighting this deadly virus as are other executive ministers.
