Next year our reigning monarch Queen Elizabeth celebrates her platinum Jubilee.

This is truly an historic moment as our Queen will have reigned for 70 years .

I believe that preparations are already being made for spectacular event’s in London and other major cities over a four day extravaganza that will include a fly past over Buckingham palace for senior royals on the balcony .

Wouldn’t this be a wonderful event for our loyal orders, bands, Lambeg drums, etc to participate in, and the perfect opportunity and stage to showcase our wonderful and glorious culture to our fellow British citizens on the mainland, as well as honouring our reigning monarch.

We should now be making contact with Buckingham Palace, the government’s culture secretary, the Grand Lodge of England and Scotland and spend the next year organising, and fund raising to be part of this great historic moment .

Mr Leslie Marshall, Tandragee
