The EU hates right wing parties but is fine with Sinn Fein

A somewhat shocked EU is plotting on how to deal with the newly elected ‘far right’ Italian government.

The result has added to the EU’s constant battles with Poland and Hungary who daily face demands from the EU Commission to conform to EU rules or suffer censure.

It is puzzling that the EU seem to hate right-wing political parties or governments, yet seem happily in bed with Sinn Fein which, from my reading of security reports, I fear might be controlled by an IRA army council.

The party certainly justifies and glorifies past terrorism. Yet, as far as I can ascertain not a single member of the newly elected Italian government or the Polish or Hungarian governments were ever terrorists or supporters of terror.

I can find no evidence that, unlike Sinn Fein, any of those governing parties were inextricably linked to an organisation that murdered around 2,000 people.

Perhaps the EU has no moral compass when it comes to political parties such as Sinn Fein, who have so many questions to answer about their past, and only finds it when dealing with right-wing or Conservative governments.

It will be interesting to watch the EU reaction when Sinn Fein are the ruling party in the Republic of Ireland!
