The UK is one of the most ‘free’ lands for people to live in

Malachy’s Scott’s letter in Thursday’s edition made me smile, as a British resident of Northern Ireland.

Irish people have a right to national freedom in Northern Ireland — surely he can’t be speaking about the present day, as the UK is one of the most ‘free’ lands for people to live in.

Hence so many migrants crossing the English channel for a life of freedom in the UK.

British people in Northern Ireland have rights as well, although you wouldn’t think it, according to Sinn Fein’s narrative.

It is strange how the Irish welcome everyone but their British neighbours who have lived here for hundreds of years.
