Van Morrison’s message should be treated with the lack of respect it deserves

How refreshing it was to enjoy the entertainment provided on Sunday afternoon by BBC with John Toal’s ‘Proms in Your Garden’.

Listening to some of Northern Ireland’s finest artists who presented their talents, whilst being aware of the needs to protect themselves against the pandemic through social distancing, brought to mind the total disregard for our safety and well-being being peddled by that singer who cannot even face his audience when performing.

Van Morrison is one of the few artists in Northern Ireland who can afford to miss the income from the gigs that cannot take place at present.

I love his music but have been to his concerts and don’t like the way he turns his back on his audience.

Now amidst the pandemic he is releasing three albums that are opposed to essential advice to save lives.

Given that he does turn his back on his audience I can only hope that people here will treat his message with the same total lack of respect.
