We should not overlook the reasons why supporters of Donald Trump protested

A letter from Stanley Kerr:

I am a great supporter of the News Letter but I have to disagree with Ben Lowry’s opinion on Saturday that President Trump must be removed from office now, because he incited supporters to riot

(The article can be read here: Ben Lowry — ‘Donald Trump should be removed from the White House, even though he is in his final days there’)

In my view, just like the days of Ian Paisley Senior, he encouraged his supporters not to surrender but fight for their rights and unfortunately in this case it went terribly wrong, even though there is footage showing the doors of Capitol Hill building being opened and them being allowed to walk in.

In the days of Paisley, men were imprisoned for crimes which some say Paisley incited, and even when Paisley formed the Third Force, I didn’t think I heard the News Letter call for his removal.

In my own view the underlying cause should not be forgotten, but studied much more, as it will eventually affect the world if it is not addressed. I am referring to the allegations of fraud in the US elections.

There have been multiple affidavits regarding different types of fraud, there are figures that don’t add up, there is doubt on the creditability of counting machines, and there is now alleged video evidence.

There have been many hearings and a lot of frustration from citizens that courts will not listen to evidence and a lack of visible investigation by federal authorities, and to top this an eerie silence from mainstream media to report on these hearings.

Now to top the frustration the few senators who have questioned the integrity of the election have been targeted by a group of high-profile company chief executives and investors who are no longer willing to financially support them.

This has underlined the unprecedented control of mega corporations in this election, and influence in US politics. The social media sites Facebook, Twitter, etc have censored and closed accounts that sympathise with Trump. This weekend after a flood of traffic moving from Twitter to the social networking site Parler, which has a lot of Trump supporters, Google bans Parler. So much for free speech.

The bottom line is that money in politics is a very powerful force, and corruption seems to be widespread.

If Ben Lowry is calling President Trump to be removed from office because of incitement, then he should also consider Vice President Elect Harris. Kamala Harris appeared to support protests by the extremist groups Black Lives Matter and Antifa on the late US Show with Stephen Colbert August 2020. She said that protests should not let up.
