Loughgall gang were lawfully killed

The speech made by Michelle O'Neill at the event commemorating the death of eight IRA men who went to Loughgall with the intention of blowing up the RUC station and killing all in it really highlights the fact that Sinn Fein are not interested in the view of unionist people.

To suggest that heavily armed terrorists are patriots is ridiculous!

These people planned to bring terror to Loughgall and they brought terror with them on a massive scale.

Eight terrorists had a digger to smash open the station gates and on this vehicle was a massive bomb 200lb which was going to be driven into the barracks and the timed unit would have exploded in a couple of minutes,

Each of the terrorists had rifles and I’m sure handguns in their possession they were not going to knock on the door of the station asking the police officers to surrender and evacuate the station.

Their two aims were 1) kill any RUC officer and 2) destroy the police station.

Murdering civilian police officers is not patriotic in any society.

I fully accept that the death of Anthony Hughes was wrong he and his brother drove into the ‘ambush zone’ and were unfortunately shot by security forces.

This would not have happened had the Provos not decided to attack the RUC station.

Michelle O’Neill and the Sinn Fein leadership continue to attempt to rewrite and whitewash Irish history.

The Provisional IRA were terrorists and thieves.

They robbed post offices and banks and in so doing they injured and murdered members of the Garda and Irish Army.

They perfected the car bomb a ‘skill’ they shared with other terrorist groups, they perfected the ‘human car bomb’ another one they shared with other terror groups, they perfected the bin bomb successfully used in Warrington and throughout the UK and another terror tactic they shared with other terrorists – the people of Boston remember it so well following the use of one there during a marathon – another gift for their terror brotherhood.

They have violated human bodies after they murdered them, they have hidden human bodies following horrific murders and they have supported those who abused children.

These people are not Irish martyrs.

Everyone is entitled to remember their dead in a dignified way, but you cannot put these killers on a pedestal and suggest they were innocent Irish people walking up the street murdered by British assassins – they were a murder gang and they were lawfully killed as they attempted to terrorise the community.
