Only thing MPs have the right to do? Get us out of the EU!

As Labour MP Kate Hoey declared at a Leave European Union rally in London on Friday, December 14: 'Why is a Prime Minister of the United Kingdom dancing to the Irish Taoiseach's tune on the European Union Withdrawal Agreement?'

The stand made to date by the 10 DUP MPs, whilst very welcome, must not weaken and if needs be we must settle for no deal.

It is truly bizarre to listen to all the rubbish being trotted out by all and sundry concerning the topic of “giving control of the Brexit procedure to Parliament”.

The irony of this stupidity is delicious!

How could these people forget that one of the main reasons 17.4 million people voted to leave the European Union was precisely to restore sovereignty to the United Kingdom Parliament, because it certainly does not have it now.

The unelected EU Commission is the United Kingdom’s supreme lawmaker, and European Union law always trumps United Kingdom law until we escape.

So let’s make it very simple.

Obeying the European Union rule book, for as long as Brussels decides, is not leaving the European Union – by any stretch of the imagination.

Clearly MPs have no mandate to do that and cannot spin it away, with soothing words from the European Union.

The only mandate they have is to remove us fully from European Union jurisdiction.

We continue to hope that Tory MPs would select a Prime Minister who has the vision, tenacity, and conviction to deliver on the referendum outcome and to LEAVE the European Union – including the Customs Union and the Single Market

As Kate Hoey MP further stated: “We didn’t spend 30 years of IRA violence where British soldiers paid the ultimate sacrifice to accept the decisions of jumped up European Union bureacrats and a complicit Prime Minister.”
