Plea to Orangemen to remain calm

As an Orangeman from Northern Ireland now living in London I write to ask my fellow Orangemen and Orangewomen to remain calm at this period of political uncertainty.

A number of questions need to be asked as to why the unionist voters failed to support the DUP and the UUP as they did at the May 2016 elections, is there voter apathy among unionist voters.

Or have voters in Northern Ireland forgotten how Sinn Fein can distort the truth to suit there own political views?

Finally we need to question how the press report things in Northern Ireland. The national press in particular have given the impression that this was Sinn Fein’s best result ever to the Northern Ireland Assembly/Parliament but by some measures they have had a better election.

What makes Sinn Fein’s success more impressive than it is, is the collapse of the DUP vote.

Would it in hindsight been better for unionism and the DUP in particular if Arlene Foster had stepped aside as first minister in December 2016?

Now we have to suffer watching Gerry Adams ‘lord’ it over the future of Northern Ireland as he pushes even harder now to campaign for a united Ireland.

It will not take him long before he demands a referendum.

To the members of the Orange Order and the Association of Orangewomen of Ireland I say never give up as God is on the side of Truth and will stand by Ulster whatever.

Bothers and Sisters I say No Surrender.
