Possible back door into NI via Republic
Amongst other things Mr McSorely suggests checks at Northern Ireland sea and air entry ports.
As I see it, the real challenge is how, in the brave new world of Brexit, we manage those of EU or other origin who enter the Republic of Ireland, from say France, by air or sea, in travelling undetected across the currently invisible internal north-south border. That is to say, the analysis fails to close a possible back door into Northern Ireland via Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Cork etc.
I doubt also if airlines and ferry operators will relish the prospect of becoming pseudo customs databases.
Interesting times.
