Purgatory does not exist, it is either saved or lost

Colin made reference to John 3:16. While not wishing to misinterpret God’s Holy Word, think on this version:
‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth not in him, will perish, and not have everlasting life.’

Verse 26, ‘And beside all this between us and you there is a great gulf fixed; so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.’
That verse 26 categorically means that purgatory does not exist.
Either saved or lost. Heaven or Hell. Not my words but Gods. The dictionary defines death in the mortal sense, not in the spiritual.
