Questions for Naomi Long about marriage

Naomi Long in her article re Asher's bakery case (October 31) states that she is a Christian and also a liberal.

In light of these statements and her support for same sex marriage she should consider the following questions:

1. Does she accept the biblical definition of marriage between a man and a woman as outlined in Genesis 2 vs 21-25 and reiterated by Jesus in Matthew 19 vs4-6 and Mark 10 vs 6-9?

2. Since marriage is a creation ordinance given for the benefit of human kind by God (Genesis 2 vs21-25) there is no distinction between religious and civil marriage as all who are married whether with religious trappings or not are married in God’s sight, why then does she make such a distinction?

3. Does she accept the overwhelming evidence of biblical scholarship and 2,000 years of Christian tradition that sexual relations outside the marriage bond of a man and a woman are sinful and contrary to God’s Word and will (Hebrews 13 vs4; 1Corinthians 6 vs18)?
